The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) warned people in Balangoda and Imbulpe Divisional Secretariat areas of possible cut slope failures and landslides if rain continues.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department today said that showery condition is expected to be enhanced to some extent due to a low level atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka.
"Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Eastern, Uva and Southern provinces.Heavy falls (above 100 mm) are also likely at some places," the department said.
