National Building Research Organization (NBRO) has issued landslide warnings for Eheliyagoda and Neluwa Divisional Secretariat Divisions in Ratnapura and Galle Districts.
According to the government news portal the warning was issued yesterday (Oct 15). Further the NBRO requests civilians in these areas to be on alert on the possibility of landslides, slope failures, rock falls, cut failures and ground subsidence and ready to evacuate to a safe location, if rains continue, the report claimed.
A Sri Lankan man was apprehended at Suvarnabhumi airport for attempting to smuggle wildlife out of the country after three ball pythons were found hidden in his underwear, the Bangkok post reported.
