President Maithripala Sirisena today said that the government has been able to get the support of the international community as opposed to the previous government.
President Sirisena addressing the SLFP May day rally in Getambe, Kandy said the country was no longer been treated as an accused party and this was important for the future progress of the country.
The President said that there were claims made that Sri Lanka is going to enter into dangerous agreements with foreign countries, but nothing of that nature would take place.
He called the party supporters to work to ensure unity in the party with the objective of having a strong party in the future.
President Sirisna said that he had been able to create democracy in the party as opposed to the previous situation where the party members had no freedom or democracy within the party.
‘We should be able to convert the party which suffered defeat to a victorious party’, he said.
