LankaClear (Sri Lanka's national payment network) has warned the publice to be cautious of fraudulent transactions involving ATM cards which have taken place in the recent past.
Accordingly, the Network requested the public to remain vigilant while using ATMs and to immediately alert banks or the Police if any suspicious devices are found connected to the ATM machine.
Further, the general public is also urged to inform security officials at the bank or the police if any suspicious individual is seen near an ATM clad in a cap, helmet, and sunglasses.
In addtion, bank account holders are also requested to register for the SMS alert service of their respective banks for all electronic transactions.
"LankaClear (the operator of LankaPay) wishes to assure the general public that the LankaPay payment network is fully secure adhering to international PCI-DSS security standard and has not been compromised" the Payment Network announced in its Facebook page.
