Sri Lanka has condemned the terrorist attack on an Indian military base in Kashmir in which at least 17 soldiers were killed. The Foreign Ministry statement is as follows
The Government of Sri Lanka strongly condemns the terrorist attack on an Indian military base in Kashmir on Sunday 18th September 2016. Sri Lanka, as a country, that has undergone the scourge of terrorism for almost three decades resents all forms and manifestation of terrorism.
In the hour of grief, the Government of Sri Lanka offers its condolences to the families of the victims of the attack.
The Government of Sri Lanka reiterates the urgent need for sustained regional and global cooperation to eliminate the menace of terrorism.
