A Sri Lankan national is among the six persons who tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Maldives today, the Health Protection Agency of Maldives said. The total number of confirmed cases in the island nation to 116.
Among those who tested positive today consist of two Maldivians, two Bangladeshis, one Indian and one Srilankan nationals. Many Sri Lankan nationals are stranded in Maldives currently seeking government intervention to return home.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry, in coordination with the Presidential Secretariat is working to facilitate the repatriation process of Lankans stranded across the globe.
