Laos national nabbed with 2.6 kilos of narcotics at BIA

A Laos National has been arrested while attempting to smuggle 2.6 kilos of methamphetamine (Ice) narcotics into the country, police said.

According to the police, the suspect had been arrested by the Police Narcotics Bureau upon arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport this morning.

The Laotion has been identified as 25-year old Xaiyavong Thongphath.

He is due to be produced before the Negombo Magistrate's Court today (Jul 8).
