Legal action has been taken against a Coronavirus (COVID-19) infected patient who admitted himself at Ragama hospital recently hiding symptoms for Coronavirus and misleading medical personnel saying he had suffered from chest pain.
Police said that they have filed legal action against the patient at Wattala Magistrate Courts for hiding symptoms for Coronavirus and exposing medical personnel and those who have interacted with him during his stay at the ward.
The patient was identified as positive for COVID-19 testing after two days since he was admitted at the ward for chest pain. Following the incident, medical personnel, health employees and those who interacted with him are instructed to undergo a 14day self quarantine process immediately.
