The police has urged the public not to be misled by false information being spread via social media regarding the spread of the Coronavirus in the country and have warned that those engaged in spreading such information will face legal action.
The police noted that while only one patient in the country has so far been diagnosed with Covid-19, rumours are being spread via social media that others from various parts of the country have been diagnosed with the disease that one contracts from the Coronavirus.
All such rumours are false and the only patient diagnosed with the disease is currently receiving treatment at the IDH hospital while his family members are being quarantined. None of the family members have tested positive for the virus either, police added.
