Liquor shops closed from May 17 - 20 : Excise Dept.
All liquor shops in the country will be closed from May 17 - May 20 in line with the Vesak Festival, the Excise Department announced today (May 15).
Meanwhile, the Excise Department will also deploy 1200 Excise officials to identify and take action against those who breach the law.
These officials would function under the Excise Superintendent and Assistant Excise Commissioner in each district and province respectively.
