Sri Lanka’s freight forwarding companies are to be given concessions in the 2016 budget to facilitate the country’s imports and exports, official sources revealed short while ago, minutes before the budget presentation.
Tax concessions will be given to the shipping and freight forwarding industry, a senior official said.
The deregulation of foreign ownership as well as legal issues pertaining to local and foreign freight forwarding companies will be addressed soon by the government, he added. (Bandula)
