The price of a bottle of local liquor has been increased by Rs 10 with effect from midnight yesterday (Jan 27).
Market sources claim that the price increase has already been implemented by Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka PLC.
Further, a quarter and a half bottle of liquor has been increased by Rs 20.
The price increase comes in the midst of President Maithripala Sirisena's campaign to eradicate the usage of drugs.
