Ranjith Madduma Bandara, who served as the Minister of Law and Order in the previous government has written a letter to IGP Pujith Jaysundara to restore the privileges of Ranil Wickremesinghe and the UNP MPs.
Mr. Bandara demanded that the security which was removed from the Prime Minister and the other UNP MPs be restored as Speaker Karu Jayasuriya had stated that he would accept Ranil Wickremesinghe as the legitimate Prime Minister.
Meanwhile, Mr. Bandara issuing another letter to public officials said that disciplinary action would be taken against those who continue to accpet orders from the present government.
He also noted that all instructions sent out by the new government to public officials are considered 'illegal'.
