The Government Analysts Department has been instructed to submit a report on the items which were found in the room of suspected sucide bomber Zahran Cassim had stayed at the Shangri-La hotel.
The order was issued during today's hearing before the Colombo Fort Magistrate's court.
Meanwhile, the mother and the daughter of Zahran Cassim who survived the explosions at a house in Sainthamruthu last month are being held under the custody of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).
The mother, Abdul Cader Fathima and the four-year old daughter were receiving treatement at the Ampara Hospital and have been taken in for questioning by the CID
Magistrate grants permission to obtain blood sample from Zaharan's daughter to verify attacker's identity
Colombo Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake today (10) granted permission to obtain a blood sample from Zaharan Cassim's daughter in order to carry out a DNA test to verify the Easter Sunday suicide bomber's identity.
Permisssion was granted following a request that was put forward by the CID.
Further, the Magistrate ordered the Government Analyst to compare the samples of Zaharan Cassim and his daughter and to submit a report to court regarding the findings.
