Perpetual Treasuries owner Arjun Aloysius today (6) appeared before Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court in a case filed over allegedly submitting doctored recordings of phone conversations to the Presidential Commission of Inquiry probing the Treasury Bond scam.
Mr Aloysius, who is named as one of the chief suspects in the case, appeared before Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne. She instructed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to mark the CDs containing the recordings due to be sent to the Government Analyst's Department in the presence of the suspect.
The Magistrate ordered the Government Analyst to submit a report on the said recordings to court.
CID informed court that the CDs that had earlier been submitted to the Government Analyst were found to be defective and as such, fresh CDs needed to be sent, the CID informed court.
Further inquiry was fixed for February 25.
