Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa who was hurriedly sworn in as Prime Minister on Friday is set to assume duties at the Prime Minister´s Office today.
It is reported that Mr Rajapaksa will take up work at 10 am at the office of PM on Flower Road.
Meanwhile Mr Rajapaksa in his first media release as Prime Minister, has requested all political leaders and their parties to assist him in conducting the Provincial Council elections.
The Prime Minister also noted that he was invited by President Maithripala Sirisena to form a new government.
