Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa has visited Chief of Defence Staff Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne at the Welikada prison today (Nov 29)
This was confirmed by Mr. Rajapaksa's Media Secretary Rohan Velivita.
Mr. Velivita further said that the former President had also visited Gnanasara Thero and Duminda Silva who are serving sentences in prison.
Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne has been remanded until December 05 over harbouring 'Navy Sampath', a chief suspect involved in the abduction of eleven youths in 2008.
Meanwhile, Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thero is serving a rigorous imprisonment sentence of 6 months for threatening Sandya Ekneligoda, the wife of missing journalist Prageeth Eknaligoda while Duminda Silva was sentenced to death after being convicted in the murder of Former MP Bharatha Lakshman and three others.
