UPDATE : The second suspect involved in the stabbing incident surrendered before the Senior Superintendent of the Matara Police a short while ago. The suspect who is in police custody will be produced before the Matara Magistrates Court in a short while.
The main suspect involved in stabbing incident of a 19-year old student in Elewella on Saturday, surrendered before the Matara Magistrates Court today (Nov 26). Further he was remanded till December 03.
Police had also recovered a motorcycle that is said to have been involved in the incident.
The main suspect along with two others were reported to have fled the scene soon after the stabbing took place.
Sources claim that the scuffle which broke out between the two groups of students was a result of a love affair.
