Maj. Gen. Sathpriya Liyanage appointed as new Army chief-of-staff
Major General Sathpriya Liyanage has been appointed as the new chief of staff of the Army.
Armys Spokesman Brigadier Sumith Atapattu said that the appointment would come into effect from today (Aug 23).
He succeeds Major General Shavendra Silva who was promoted as the Army Commander this month.
