An order preventing Malaka Silva, son of former Minister Mervyn Silva's from entering nightclubs was extended till August by the Colombo Additional Magistrate yesterday.
The order was given when the case filed against him for allegedly assaulting a foreign couple at a local night club was taken up for hearing.
Silva's lawyers informed court that he would like to come to a settlement over the case with the couple involved and requested the ban on visiting night clubs lifted. The lawyers of the couple said that they were not instructed on coming to a settlement.
The Magistrate ordered the case heard again on August 25 and said the ban will be in force until that day.
