A man has been arrested for selling banned drugs such as Tramadol and abortion pills mainly targetting school children in Kandy.
The suspect was arrested with 600 Tramadol tablets which were between 150 - 200 milligrams when compared to the normal value of 50 mg.
Further, around 890 abortion pills believed to have been smuggled from Pakistan had also been found in the possession of the suspect.
Investigations have revealed that the drugs were sold opposite a school in Kandy in order to sell them to the students.
Kandy police said that further investigations are being carried out in order to arrest a few other individuals who are believed to have been involved in this illegal trade.
Meanwhile, the suspect will be produced before the Kandy courts today (Mar 27).
