The Management Faculty of the Peradeniya University will be closed until further notice from today (July 19), a statement said.
Accordingly, the management of the university has announced that all students must vacate the premises by 6 pm.
During the last few days, students had protested against the installation of CCTV cameras within the university. Talks with the management in this regard were reported to have ended in a stalemate.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Upul B. Dissanayake said the faculty will be closed temporarily until a final decision is taken over the matter.
