Dr. Rajapaksa said that of the 312, the remains of 297 persons have have been fully extracted and are currently being stored at the Mannar Magistrates Court.
Further, he added that the report on the bone samples which were sent to the US is expected to be received within the course of this week. The report will be compiled following a carbon-dating process, that is expected to determine the age of the remains.
The Beta Analytics Department in the US which is conducting the test has been instructed to send a copy of the report in writing to the Mannar Magistrates Court and Dr. Rajapaksa.
