The Matale Pradeshiya Sabha has unanimously approved a proposal to acquire the land belonging to Inshaf Ahamed, the bomber who was involved in the Shangri-La hotel attack.
The proposal which was put forward by Pradeshiya Sabha member Nalaka Bandara Kottegoda suggested that the land be used for a waste recycling project.
It is believed that the land which belonged to the suicide bomber, spanned 21 acres. The proposal which was tabled today, was seconded by Pradeshiya Sabha member Ajantha Wijesekara.
