Micky, Sri Lanka’s biscuit legend, retires as Ceylon Biscuits chairman

Mineka (Micky to friends) Wickramasingha, the legendary founder of the popular Munchee brand of biscuits, is throwing in the towel after a 48-year run at the top, the company announced on Thursday. At a meeting of the board of directors of Ceylon Biscuits Limited (CBL) on June 24, Mr Wickramasingha stepped down and has been replaced by current Deputy Chairman, Ramya Wickramasingha who was elected as the new Chairman of the Group. Mr. Mineka Wickramasingha will however continue to mentor the group in his new role as President Emeritus.
