The cabinet has approved a proposal to construct a mini-hotel within the premises of the Water's Edge Hotel in Battaramulla.
The proposed hotel will be constructed at a cost of just over Rs 1.2 billion according to a cabinet paper put forward by the Ministry of Megapolis and Western Development.
The contract for the project has been awarded to Sathuta Builders Pvt Ltd. after the tenders were referred to the Cabinet Procurement Committee.
