Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa today (Mar 27) claimed that the mismanagement of the government had adversely impacted several sectors in the country.
The people in this country were able to live without any problems during my government, Mr. Rajapaksa recounted while speaking to the press following the 47th commemoration ceremony of late Mahajana Eksath Peramuna (MEP) leader Philip Gunawardena.
Further, he stressed that the incumbent government's failure to complete the construction of the Sampur Power Plant two years ago has resulted in today's power crisis. He cautioned that this situation is bound to worsen if necessary measures are not taken to address this issue.
While pointing out that elections have been intentionally delayed by the current government which has been turning a deaf ear to the people, the former President insisted that the elections must be held this year.
