High ranking officials of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and Government officials made a visit to North this week to explore the possibility of further land release in Vavuniya, Kilinochchi and Mullaittivu recently, the ministry said in a statement.
Secretary to the Ministry of Defence Eng. Karunasena Hettiarachchi led the delegation which included the Commanders of the Army and Navy, Defence Ministry officials, senior tri forces officers and district secretaries of the Kilinochchi, Wanni and Mullaittivu.
During the visit, the delegation visited the locations of the lands which are being used by the Security Forces in Wanni, Kilinochchi and Mullaittivu areas. Later discussions were held with officials in this regard.
