A monk has succumbed to death in an accident involving an Army truck in Medawachchiya, Anuradhapura yesterday (Aug 10) night.
It is reported that the army truck had collided with the victim on the sidewalk of the Medawachchiya road in the vicinity of the Weli Oya roundabout.
The victim has been identified as Senapura Shilavimala Thero, a 36-year old priest at the Thammanagala temple.
He had died while receiving treatment at the Anuradhapura hospital.
