The investigations into the alleged arms deal between Ukranian rebels and the Sri Lanka’s former Ambassador to Russia, Udayanga Weerathunga has revealed that he had given weapons to ninteen ukranian nationals, a speokesperson from Foreign Ministry said today. Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mahishini Colonne said that the ministry has informed to all the foreign mission that Mr Weerathunga's diplomatic passport has been cancelled. However Mr.Weerathunga visited the Sri Lankan Embassy in Iran and sought clearance of his baggage through a power of attorney but the request has been turned down.
