More body fragments suspected to have belonged to the two businessmen who were killed in Rathgama were discovered in a forest reserve in Walasmulla yesterday (Feb 27).
A magisterial inquest was carried out by the Walasmulla Chief Magistrate Suranga Munasinghe at the location in which the remains were found.
Investigations by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) have revealed that the businessmen were abducted and killed by police officers attached to the Southern Special Investigations Unit on January 23.
Investigations are currently underway with regard to the statements that were obtained from suspects who have been arrested in connection with the abduction and killing.
Burnt bone fragments, and a few fragments of skin were discovered by CID officials in the vicinity of a tributary that flows to the Thunmodara canal in the Walasmulla forest reserve.
