Prevailing rainy condition in the island is expected to enhance from tomorrow onwards where showers or thundershowers will occur at several palaces in the most parts of the island after 2.00 p.m, the Department of Meteorology said in its weather forecast today.
“Showers will occur in the Western, North-western and Southern coastal areas during the morning too. Fairly heavy falls, about 75mm can be expected in Central and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle, Matara, Anuradhapura and Vauniya districts,” the weather report said.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces during the morning. There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. The public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
