The Police Headquarters has decided to promote more than 100 Superintendents (SP) as Senior Superintendents (SSP), Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekara said.
He explained that the Election Commission had approved the promotions as they are being made following a two-year long procedure.
Among those who would be promoted are 87 Police and 14 Special Task Force officers.
Police Spokesman Gunasekara is also among those to be promoted.
