Musician Jananath Warakagoda who was remanded over an accident that resulted in the death of a woman has been released on bail.
The order was issued when Mr Warakagoda was produced before the Mahara Chief Magistrates Court today (Mar 18).
Magistrate Heshantha de Mel had released the accused on a cash bail of Rs 10,000 and two surety bails of Rs 200,000 each. Further, the driving license of Mr. Warakagoda has also been suspended until a final verdict is issued on the case.
Meanwhile, the accused had handed over Rs 150,000 to the prosecution during the hearing today.
The case will be taken up for further hearing on April 29.
