Namal resigns from SLFP ; joins SLPP

Namal Rajapaksa, taking to his Twitter handle has announced his decision to resign from the SLFP and join the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) with effect from today.

I am joining the @PodujanaParty effective immediately.

We will strive to create a broader coalition with many stakeholders under the leadership of @MaithripalaS & @PresRajapaksa to face the upcoming General Election and come out victorious. pic.twitter.com/UHl4MKWpp9
