National Sports Festival kicks off in Jaffna

The 42nd National Sports Festival got underway at the Alfred Duraiappah Stadium in Jaffna yesterday with a colorful openring ceremony. This is the first occasion that such a sporting festival is being held in the north. Speaker Karu Jayasuriya attended as the Chief Guest at the opening ceremony of the festival. Others in attendence included Ministers Dayasiri Jayasekara and Mano Ganesan.
