Navy officials have apprehended 11 suspects in the seas off Kalpitiya for utilising illegal nets to carry out their fishing activities.
Accordingly, the suspects were arrested along with the two illegal nets, four dinghies, and 2487 kilograms of fish.
The suspects along with the seized items were handed over to the Fisheries Insepctor's Office for legal action.
Meanwhile, 13 fishermen along with four dinghies were seized in the same area on February 02 by navy officials.
