Former Navy Commander Lieutenant Chandana Prasad Hettiarachchi alias 'Navy Sampath' who has been accused of the abduction of eleven youths in 2008/09 has been remanded until January 2 , 2019.
The remand order was issued by Colombo Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake today (Dec 19).
Earlier, President's chief-of-staff Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne who is alleged to have harboured 'Navy Sampath' was released on bail by the Colombo Fort Magistrates Court.
Lieutenant Hettiarachchi is also a suspect in the murder of former Parliamentarian Nadaraja Raviraj.
