Chandana Prasad Hettiarachchi , popularly known as ‘Navy Sampath’ , the main suspect wanted for the abduction of 11 youths in Jaffna during the last stages of the war, was arrested by the CID yesterday, at Lotus Road Colombo, Police said
The 11 youth went missing in 2008 and 2009 and are believed to have been killed.
Previously, the CID arrested Navy officers including the former Navy Spokesperson, Commodore D.K.P. Dassanayake in relation to the case
Navy Sampath was scheduled to be produced before the Fort Magistrate’s Court this evening.
The CID are carrying out investigations.
