Sri Lanka Navy rescued a foreign yacht which was in distress off the Rumassala shores in Galle yesterday (May 15).
Having received a distress signal from the vessel named "Mango One" indicating engine failure, the Navy had dispatched two naval craft on a Search and Rescue (SAR) mission to assist the vessel.
According to the Navy, the passengers on the yacht who were en route to Thailand, via Sri Lankan waters included Thai and German nationals.
Meanwhile, the yacht has been handed over to a private shipping agent for repairs.
