UPFA Western Provincial Councilors, Nawzar Fowzie and Keerthi Kariyawasam, expressed their intentions to switch allegiance during the Western Provincial Council (WPC) sittings today (Dec 04).
It is reported that Mr.Fowzie ( the son of former minister A H M Fowzie) and Mr. Kariyawasam had taken their seats in the opposition during the sitting.
At the commencement of today's session the duo had issued a special statement within the chamber before crossing over.
Explaining his decision to crossover, Mr Kariyawasam had said due to the alliances and policies followed by the present administration that he had taken the decision to crossover.
