A total of 17, 925 candidates in the Puttalam district have applied for the Government scheme to provide 1 million Government jobs to young people from low income families, Puttalam District Secretary Chandrasiri Bandara stated.
Interviews for the prospective candidates began yesterday (26) and will conclude on Saturday (29). Interviews are being held at 16 Divisional Secretariats in the district, Mr Bandara further said.
The interview boards are comprised of Divisional Secretaries, their staff and security forces personnel.
