The Opposition Leader of the Negombo Municipal Council who was arrested over a burglary is set to be produced before court today (Jul 8), the Police Spokesman said.
Royce Vijitha Fernando, 53, had been arrested as a chief suspect after a complaint had been filed with the police over this incident on June 23.
Five suspects who were previously arrested in connection with this incident have been remanded, police noted.
The Opposition Leader is due to be produced before the Negombo Magistrate's court. Further investigations continue.
