UNP MP Akila Viraj Kariyawasam has said that the appointment of new cabinet ministers would commence on Monday and conclude on Tuesday.
Addressing a media briefing, he said that plans are afoot to establish a United National Front (UNF) government.
Commenting on the composition of the cabinet, the UNP MP said that attempts would be made to restrict the number of ministers to 30.
MP Kariyawasam further noted that the "Yukthiye Satana" (Fight for Justice) rally will be held as planned in Galle Face on December 17.
"The Yukthiye Satana rally was initially planned as a protest rally. However, now it is a celebration" MP Kariyawasam remarked while inviting all citizens to be a part of the rally and celebrate the historic moment.
