The new cabinet of 30 ministers will be sworn in before the President at 8:30 am tomorrow (Dec 20) at the Presidential Secretariat, General Secretary of the UNP, MP Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said.
However, MP Kariyawasam told Times Online that the ministerial portfolio of the Law and Order Ministry would be given within a month.
He further said that a Cabinet meeting would also be held at the Presidential Secretariat following the swearing in ceremony.
Meanwhile, it is reported that the UNF had sent a list of 36 proposed cabinet ministers follwing which the President had decided to omit six names from the list.
According to political sources, the President had removed the names of MPs Sarath Fonseka, Palitha Range Bandara, A.H.M. Fowzie, Piyasena Gamage, Lakshman Senaviratne and Wijith Wijayamuni Soyza.
