A new scientific test has been introduced for those willing to obtain their driving licenses, the National Council for Road Safety (NCRS) said.
Chairman of the NCRS, Dr. Sisira Kodagoda said that three consignements of special equipment have been imported from Japan in order to carry out this test.
These machines would be used in training drivers to observe patience while driving on the streets.
The National Transport Board will be distributing these machines to all driving schools following which individuals applying for driving licenses will undergo this special test.
Three grading categories namely A,B, and C will be introduced to grade drivers based on their performance in the test.
Dr. Kodagoda said that drivers are expected to obtain a B grading as a minimum qualification to obtain the license.
