A K R Dharmapala assumed duties as the Secretary to the State Ministry of Finance yesterday (Jul 29).
Having entered the state administrative service in 1985, Dharmapala had previously served as the secretary to the state minister of social empowerment.
He had also served in the capacity of Commissioner at the Motor Traffic Department, and the Department of Agrarian Services and also the Commissioner-General at the Land Title Settlement Department.
Further, he had also served as an assistant secretary to the education ministry and the lands ministry.
He holds an honours degree in Economics from the University of Kelaniya.
