Nine Indian fishermen were arrested by the Navy for poaching in Sri Lankan waters off Delft Island today (Feb 25).
The arrest was carried out by a team of Navy personnel attached to the Northern Naval command during a patrol on a Fast attack craft.
Two vessels which were in the possession of the suspects were also seized by the Navy.
The suspects have been handed over to the Fisheries Inspectprs Office in Jaffna following a basic medical test.
