SriLankan Airlines has said that it does not "envisage any cancellations of its flights" in the backdrop of a strike action at the Heathrow Airport in London today (Aug 5) and on August 6.
Issuing a statement, the national air carrier noted that preparations have been made to minimize inconveniences to passengers that could occur due to the strike.
Accordingly, additional staff from SriLankan have been deployed at both the arrival and departure terminals for both passengers and cargo, the statement noted.
However, SriLankan conceded that certain areas including security screening are "most likely to be affected" since its operations are handled by the Heathrow Airport.
The air carrier said in its statement that it operates a route of 111 cities in 48 countries from Colombo.
