Not a single female candidate is among the 11 fielded by the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) to contest the parliamentary election from the Puttalam District.
The SLPP handed over its nomination papers to Puttalam District Secretary Chandrasiri Bandara this morning (17).
Nomination papers were handed over by former State Minister of Fisheries Sanath Nishantha Perera, who is the SLPP's leader for the Puttalam District. The 11 candidates includes those contesting from the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP).
